Frequently asked questions

Is Free really free?

Yes. No credit card to start, no time limit. Free is for individuals exploring Hintertide; if you grow into multiple projects or want more AI clients, Pro picks up from there.

Monthly vs. annual — what's the difference?

Annual billing saves about 17% (Pro is $390/year vs. $39/month × 12 = $468/year; Team is $1,490/year vs. $149/month × 12 = $1,788/year). Pick either at checkout; switch later from the customer portal.

Can I cancel or change plans anytime?

Yes. Open Manage subscription from the Billing settings page — that's the Lemon Squeezy customer portal, where you can change plans (prorated automatically), cancel, or update payment info. Cancellations remain active through the end of the paid period.

Do you support self-hosting?

Not in this version. Hintertide is a hosted service. Self-hosted deployments are a future consideration for Team customers with strict data-residency requirements.

What about an open-source / community edition?

Not planned today. The MCP surface is documented and stable; any AI tool that speaks MCP can use Hintertide regardless of how it was built.

Who handles payment processing?

Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. They handle billing, taxes (VAT/sales tax), and invoicing across regions. Your card details never touch Hintertide servers.
